A few thoughts on Arizona's SB-1070
This law does not change the mechanics of a traffic stop or the circumstances under which the cops can pull you aside and ask you for an ID. This has been decided at the Federal level by US Supreme Court and cannot be changed by Russell Pearce or anybody else in AZ. Saying this law is racist does not make it so.
This morning the President has said that SB-1070 is unfair and there have been numerous attempts in the media by activists to seize the moral high ground claiming they care about those who want a better life for themselves & their children. Maybe so, but this is selective compassion and it is the rufuge of hipocrites.
Where are all the stories about the damage done to our own citizens especially low skilled Latinos who must compete with a flood of illegal immigrants for jobs?
Where are all the stories about the downward pressure on wages in this already depressed job market?
Where are all the stories about those who play by the rules & attempt to become citizens legally?
All of this is largely ignored by the “compassionate.”
Some say the Arizona can’t afford it. Under the present circumstances that may also be true. But then again this question begs another question.
Where are all the stories about the cost of illegal immigration?
The bottom line?
Ultimately some kind of path-to-citizenship may be the only solution.
So here’s a tip for the The President & the Feds:
You’d get a lot more support if you got serious about border enforcement.

I'm a proud son from illegal immigrants. They migrated from Sinaloa, Mexico. And my mom from Guatemala City. To live a better life. They first moved to Orange County, CA.. Now we live in Phoenix. My parents never abused welfare systen and they also thought us to work hard and not to ever give up...they are now US citizens, and almost done paying off there house what use to be the American dream. I'm very glad I live in the US. If we would have stayed in Mexico I think we would have been poor working in the fields getting paid 5 dollars a day. Or mybe work with the drug dealers to get paid very well.. Mexico has crapy laws, for human rights...that's why there is only rich n poor in Mexico. But I was born in Santa Ana, California 1985. I graduated from Tempe High School. I'm not married nor have any kids. I could say I'm a college drop out, and work for Countrywide Home Loans which is now Bank Of America Home loans I have been servicing home loans since 2007.

I'm also a tax payer I also do hate imigrants that have there kids here and abuse of welfare bennefits. I like to go to food city, because it's around the corner . Everytime I go there is always some one in front of me using food stamps or the food stamp credit cards. whatever they use. One time I witness some one trying to use the food stamp credit card to buy beer. Honestly I'm also fed up of all these abuses. They make us Latinos look bad. I know we are all not like that. I agree with alot of Americans we need to secure the border, then do some type of imigration reform...

sb1070 is not the right way to go. but I guess if it's going to make the Feds look bad mybe they will do something about it. I guess we have to wait to see... It will not effect me nor my family... But I have friends that it will efect them. Most of my friends were kids when they got to the US I would hate to see their families be broken apart.. They also pay taxes n do not abuse of welfare bennefits ...

I don't know if it is still the case that "legal immigrants" must be sponsored by an American Citizen, I think it works that way. It seems to me that those that hire "illegal immigrants" are acting as defacto sponsors and as such should be held liable for their employees when they commit crimes or drive drunk etc. It wold only take one case to set the pressident then just watch.
